Mother & Daughter Teddy Bear Tea
Parasols are a Girl’s Shade Companion The Teddy Bear Tea and Picnic (May of 2019) was a wonderful event! We all had a lovely time, and the weather was perfect! The little girls had their own little table and picnic area and played with their Teddies. They also enjoyed playing with the parasols I made. The two smaller parasols shown above were re-made from little girl’s umbrellas. Even though I could find parasols fairly inexpensively, they wouldn’t have been as sturdy as these were. I took apart the umbrellas and used one of the sections as a pattern. Then I sewed the sections together and both sewed and glued it…

Oh, Isn’t it Romantic?
Once Upon a Time, there was a girl named Cynthia Fern who was born a Hopeless Romantic. Oh yes that is me, and I have always been what is called, “A Girly Girl”, sensitive and feminine. That’s okay, because it is who I am. A favorite past-time is to read romantic books, watch romantic movies or TV shows, and make my home and garden as romantic as possible without making my husband feel uncomfortable. It truly is acceptable to love lace, pearls and roses. You can be a hopeless romantic, love pink and girly things and still be a strong woman. Plus, it helps me to deal with other things…

For the Love of Lace
Isn’t Lace Romantic? I remember poor Gus trying to find things for Cinderella’s dress. It was the mice that found the trimmings, though wasn’t it? You see, even the mice knew that the ball dress for Cinderella was just not going to be done unless it had some of those feminine touches! Lace and ribbons are some of those trimmings that make things special. Just because we are on a budget, does not mean we can’t have pretty things too! Go ahead and find something pretty that is not practical, and then take it apart for its pieces. I find it very rewarding. I think Gus would agree! So…

Mother & Daughter Teddy Bear Tea
The Invitation Part of what makes me ME is my passion for the Victorian era and hosting parties. This also helps to keep me focused on other people, which helps my fight against depression. I’m hosting a Mother Daughter Tea and Teddy Bear Picnic on May 11th, the day before Mother’s Day. This is a tradition I started several years ago. It can be a large group, up to 50, or a smaller group, around 25, depending on everyone’s schedules. Whether large or small it is a fun event, and usually the weather is perfect! Today I thought you’d like to see how I am going to do this Tea…
