Victorian Romance, Pretties & Teas

Mother & Daughter Teddy Bear Tea

The Invitation

Part of what makes me ME is my passion for the Victorian era and hosting parties. This also helps to keep me focused on other people, which helps my fight against depression. I’m hosting a Mother Daughter Tea and Teddy Bear Picnic on May 11th, the day before Mother’s Day. This is a tradition I started several years ago. It can be a large group, up to 50, or a smaller group, around 25, depending on everyone’s schedules. Whether large or small it is a fun event, and usually the weather is perfect!

Today I thought you’d like to see how I am going to do this Tea Party. First I start with a theme, and then the invitation. I chose Teddy Bear Picnic as my theme this year.

Here is the Invitation Front. They are 6 and 1/2 inches tall. Some lace and flowers will be glued to the top of her head to make her more dimensional, and give her a little party hat/fascinator.

Oh Won’t You Join Me for Tea?

Then on the opposite side I have the information. (I removed my information for you). I took the same graphic, flipped it and then removed almost all of the color. It is important that I made sure the placement on the paper was exactly the same, so that I could print 2 at a time on a single sheet of card-stock, and then print on the other side of the paper. Each printer is different. Play with gray-scale and regular or scrap paper first!

Isn’t she lovely? I wont mind if you snag her. The font is BaaBookHmk which is by Hallmark. Oh! and the attendees MUST wear a hat or hair bow to attend!

Why Teddy Bear Tea & Picnic?

I like to have a different theme each year. The invitations and activities are done around the theme. There is also an area just for little girls that I make very special in my backyard garden with a pale pink fairy tent. Fairy tents are appropriate no matter what the theme is. I will keep you updated on what I do next for my party. It’s only 3 weeks away!

Have a Beary Beautiful day!
